Toronto Hydro Electric System

Project Name: Toronto Hydro Electric System

This project was scheduled driven as the clients were housed in temporary warehouse space on site in the building. The demolition portion of the contract was especially challenging due to the fact that this portion of the building was a existing warehouse space with numerous block walls that where built slab to slab. During the demolition stage as the floor was being cut for the new male and female shower areas, an existing basement was discovered that was not shown on the drawings. In turn we had to add structural steel and reinforcing to the existing structure along with keeping the original schedule. The complete project encompasses new male and female locker areas, shower areas, and office areas where the service department takes in service requests. They plan the daily activities for the technical personal before meeting in the new marshalling areas where the work crews arrive in the morning. They receive their work assignments for the day before proceeding to there destinations to complete their tasks. Also included in this renovated area are two large meeting rooms which are used by all personal to plan and coordinate the day’s activities along with future projects. This site is centrally located in the west end of the city for any work associated with the Toronto Hydro Electric Commission.
